The Kensington Building lands first tenant

Author: AshbyCapital |

AshbyCapital’s development is the first new headquarters office building in the area for more 35 years.

AshbyCapital has let 22,931 sq ft at The Kensington Building to EssilorLuxottica, a designer and manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses and other optical equipment, React News can reveal.

The company has taken the entire second floor of the development, which completed last year and is the first new, headquarters office building in Kensington in more 35 years.

The development comprises 94,734 sq ft of office space with flexible floor plates, with 12,329 sq ft of landscaped terraces, designed by Gillespies Landscape Architects.

All of The Kensington Building’s electricity comes from renewable sources, and re-purposing the building’s existing frame has reduced CO2 emissions by around 30% compared to a typical new-build office building.

Just under 72,000 sq ft of the building remains available to let over five floors.

Peter Ferrari, chief executive of AshbyCapital, said: “This is a major vote of confidence in the next-generation, sustainable workplace that we have created with Janson Urban and Pilbrow & Partners, and we are confident they will enjoy the grand proportions of the workspace and best-in-class amenities.

With strong interest in the remaining floors of the building, we expect further forward-thinking occupiers to join them soon, taking advantage of the exceptional working lifestyle that Kensington has to offer.
